An Exploration of Emptiness

The "Gèlida" collection arises from a deep contemplation of the philosophical emptiness of Japanese Zen Buddhism and the poetics of wabi-sabi, an aesthetic that celebrates imperfection, impermanence, and the transience of nature and feeling. Through this series of works, I wanted to capture the essence of my experiences in the cold and dark mountains, where nature takes on a raw yet sublime character.

 

Each piece reflects the harmony between emptiness and form, between shadow and light, evoking the silence and serenity that can only be found in winter landscapes. The visual elements are imbued with a minimalist intention, featuring subtle textures and muted colors that evoke the fragility and persistence of nature.

 

"Gèlida" is an invitation to get lost in stillness, to embrace the impermanent, and to discover the hidden beauty in austerity and introspection.
